WINNIPEG - The son of former federal Liberal cabinet minister Jim Carr is looking to follow in his father's footsteps.
Ben Carr has announced he will seek the party’s nomination in the Winnipeg South Centre riding that was held by his dad before his death in December.
Carr, who is 36, says choosing to run was a difficult decision but he has always believed in public service and his values align with the Liberals.
Winnipeg city councillor Sherri Rollins says she is seeking the nomination as well.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not yet set a date for the by-election.
