WINNIPEG - Arson is suspected after a building once used as a day school for Indigenous children burned down on a Manitoba First Nation.
Chief David Monias at Pimicikamak Cree Nation says the discovery of the remains of 215 kids at a former residential school in Kamloops, BC was like reopening a wound.
He says the building was a reminder of that devastating part of the community's past.
The building was used more recently by the health department to store the records of residential school survivors.
