Alberta Man Trading Drugs & Alcohol for Sexual Favours from Minors

WINNIPEG – A 64-year-old man from Alberta was charged after police discovered he was trading alcohol and drugs for sexual services with a number of minors.

Opaskwayak Cree Nation and The Pas RCMP began investigating the man for what they believed was trafficking methamphetamine. Police said a traffic stop of the suspect resulted in methamphetamine and items related to the trafficking of the drug being discovered.

Mounties said the investigation further determined the suspect was involved in the sexual exploitation of multiple youth and was attempting to obtain sexual services from those youth in exchange for drugs and alcohol.

Eric Leonard Richards, 64-yers-old, from Athabasca, Alberta, but living in The Pas, is charged with the following offences:

· Sexual Exploitation of a Young Person x3

· Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration from Person under 18 x2

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

· Failure to Comply with an Undertaking
