WINNIPEG - Two dozen travellers to African countries have been told to self-isolate after returning to Manitoba.
This is being done to protect against the possible spread of the new Omicron variant of concern.
The province has started screening for it but so far there's no sign of it here yet.
Local health officials say they are ready to carry out significant contact investigations if Omicron shows up within our borders.
Dr. Joss Reimer of the Vaccine Task Force says experts don't really know yet how well the vaccines might protect against Omicron.
