SELKIRK - A 41-year-old man, involved in a single vehicle rollover Sunday, July, 8th on highway 59, has died from his injuries.
Selkirk RCMP say a pickup truck was travelling southbound on Highway 59, about one kilometre north of Scanterbury, when it lost control, rolled, and landed upside down in the west ditch, which was partially full of water. The cab of the truck was completely submerged.
A 35-year-old man from Hollow Water, was able to get out of the truck, and the other occupant, a 41-year-old man from Selkirk, was pulled out by passers by who stopped to help.
Both men were taken to a Winnipeg hospital. The 35-year-old mane was released after his injuries were treated. The 41-year-old man died from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
Mounties said alcohol is considered a factor in the collision. It is unknown whether the men were wearing seatbelts.
