2 Deaths, 230 Cases

WINNIPEG - The province is reporting two new deaths today from COVID-19.

There are 230 new cases of the virus today, including 177 in Winnipeg.

Cases of variants of concern total 1,900 in Manitoba, with 754 of them active. Six people have been killed by the variants.

2,263 cases are active, 35,203 people have recovered, for a total of 38,439 cases so far.

142 people are in hospital and 41 of them are in intensive care.

The five day test positivity rate in the province is 7.2 per cent. Winnipeg's rate is 8.3. 2,941 tests were done in the last 24 hours for a total of 656,519 since the pandemic began.

The death toll now sits at 973.
