2 Deaths, 135 Cases

WINNIPEG - The province is reporting two deaths today from COVID-19, both of them in Winnipeg and one of them from the UK variant.

There are 135 new cases of the virus today, including 89 in Winnipeg and 34 in the north.

The variants of concern now total 479, with 154 of them active. Two people have been killed by the variants.

1,438 cases are active, 33,070 people have recovered, for a total of 35,459 cases so far.

138 Manitobans are in hospital right now, 33 of them in the ICU.

The five day test positivity rate in the province is six per cent. Winnipeg's rate is 5.7. 1,955 tests were done in the last 24 hours for a total of 608,345 since the pandemic began.

The death toll now sits at 951.
