13 Year-Old Child Shot in Norway House

NORWAY HOUSE – A 13 year-old boy is in hospital after being shot by a group of youths in Norway House.

The boy was shot at about 5:00 A.M on Kistapinan Drive and was taken to the hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. He was later flown to Winnipeg for further treatment.

When police arrived the suspects had already fled the scene but the investigation identified five youths that were potentially involved in the shooting.

Three of these youths have been located and arrested. A 15-year-old male has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, Pointing a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose. Two females, a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old, who were arrested, were later released without charge.

The 13-year-old victim remains in hospital and is in stable condition.
