1 Death, 44 Cases

WINNIPEG - The province is reporting one death today from COVID-19, a man in his 70's in Winnipeg.

There are 44 new cases of the virus, including 23 in Winnipeg and 14 in the north.

There are now 23 cases of variants of concern.

891 cases are active, 30,935 people have recovered, for a total of 32,743 cases so far.

148 Manitobans are in hospital right now, 23 of them in the ICU.

The five day test positivity rate in the province is 4.5 per cent. Winnipeg's rate is 3.1. 1,573 tests were done in the last 24 hours for a total of 549,687 since the pandemic began.

The death toll now sits at 917.
