WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Goldeyes are coming home after a six-game road trip through Chicago and Indiana which saw them finish with a 3-and-3 record.

The game started well with Reggie Abercrombie smacking his second homer of the season to put the Goldeyes up 1-0 in the top of the fourth.

Andy Dejesus, who had a great series against the Goldeyes, picked up two of his three RBI’s on the night in the bottom of the sixth inning to put the Railcats up 2-1. Mitch Glasser would add an RBI before the inning would run out to make it 3-1 after six.

Winnipeg had a chance to tie the game in the top of the seventh. With runners on second and third, Matt McCann hit a single that scored Victor Cruzado. Jordan Edgerton attempted to score from second but was thrown out at the plate, stopping the threat at 3-2.

That’s as close at the Goldeyes would come as Gary would add another three runs in the bottom of the seventh, giving them the 6-2 win.

Winnipeg will take Thursday off to travel home before getting set for a six-game homestand that begins Friday night against the expansion Chicago Dogs, who visit Shaw Park for the first time this season.
