WINNIPEG, MB - The Manitoba Moose are on the road for six games, they kicked off the trip with a win against the Rockford IceHogs last night.

It was a slow start for both teams but, the Moose got on the board at13:05 with a power-play goal from Patrice Cormier. The IceDogs kept the pressure up and tied the game with 2:16 of the first period.
Rockford had the momentum heading into the second and scored quickly, Tyler Sikura put one behind Comrie at the 4:04 mark in the second period. The Moose came up with a key penalty kill 12:07 into the frame and got back on even footing just over a minute after Buddy Robinson's penalty expired. Jansen Harkins moved the puck back to the point for Jan Kostalek who blasted home his first of the season with 4:42 left in the period. Brendan Lemieux fired one off the post moments later, narrowly missing pushing the Moose in front, and the score stayed 2-2 heading to the third.
The third period remained tied until 11:05 on a Moose power-play Lemieux put one into the Rockford net. The teams continued going back and forth, Luke Johnson tied the game for Rockford with just 1:58 remaining. That late goal forced overtime which started slowly with the Moose carefully maintaining control of the puck for the first 90 seconds until the three-on-three period blew wide open. After a pair of Nic Petan chances failed to connect, the IceHogs broke away down the ice for an opportunity of their own. Comrie came up with the game-saving stop and Sami Niku turned the puck up-ice to Petan who cruised in on a breakaway and picked his spot to send the Moose to a 4-3 victory.
