Assault Charge For COVID Cough

WINNIPEG – A 43 year old Brandon man has been charged with assault after intentionally coughing on first responders and telling them he was COVID-19 positive.

Brandon Fire and Emergency Services were called to help a man with breathing difficulties. While treating the guy, he became disruptive. He coughed on purpose on the frontliners and told them he had coronavirus.

Police took the man to hospital for treatment and then arrested him. He was released from custody on a promise to appear in court on March 1st.
